The Watsons Go To Birmingham Blog

Hello all!  It's been a long time since I've posted a post, but I'm going to try to get back on writing posts to my blog.  I can't believe it's already the last six weeks of school.  We have 21 days left of school and I'm sure they will go by quickly.  This last six weeks my students will be reading the novel called The Watsons Go To Birmingham.  I've decided to build more interest in the novel by creating a class blog for my students to respond to what they are reading and posting any questions they might have about what they are reading.  So far, I have posted 3 posts, but the kids seem to love using the blog.  We haven't started reading the book yet, but I think the constant background information I'm feeding them about the Civil Rights Movement is building up their interest to want to read the book.  I'm very proud of the discussions that I'm seeing on the blog.  I think I will want to use a blog for all of the novels next year.  :)
